Hello! MBC (lungs, bones) for 1 yr and on Letrozol and ribociclib since. Recently frequent episodes of red/hot and itchy face lasting up to 4 hours. No sweating at all, no bumps. Has anyone else experienced this? Started Googling and worried might be carcinoid tumour 😩Thanks very much.

No, I haven't experienced this. It makes me think itis something else besides the meds. Your Oncology nurse can answer this for you for sure.

Cheers, June S.

If it were me having this, I would suspect an allergic reaction and would call one of my docs right away to find out what I needed to do........ allergic reactions can be very serious,

Go get bloods done and check liver counts. AST and ALT. could be allergic reaction to the ribociclib. I had full body rash with liver enzymes 10x and 11x above top of normal range. Now off all drugs waiting for liver to calm down.

Thanks very much for sharing your experience. Will definitely have it checked out. Forgot to mention that is usually way worse with exposure to sunlight (even indirect). Thanks!!

I am on the same meds, occasionally experience itching on my thighs, very itchy and gets red but not a constant thing so I do not think it is related to any type of progression. I searched the net and others have had this, the greatest consensus is that it is from the Letrozole. Some people only had episodes for a few months and then it stopped. My episodes seem to be getting less and less.Creams to keep the skin from getting too dry seem to help, but if it is a really strong reaction it wouldn’t hurt to get it checked out.

Yes, Letrozole. Almost everything I have taken or been given for mbc causes a rash of some sort -- bumps, itchy or not, eczema once -- but it is only with Letrozole that I had what seemed to be a real allergic reaction. My legs (one side of each), my face in splotches, and my feet turned bright red. It was frightening but harmless. Looked and felt like a sunburn. (I got off Letrozole and went on Anastrozole instead; now just the usual itchy rash on torso.)
