Zoladex VS Lupron

Good morning!! Has anyone switched from Zoladex to Lupron? And what side effects do you have from the Lupron? My Dr. Just called and said my insurance company is no longer covering Zoladex so they are switching me to Lupron. TIA

Yes I switched…I started on Lupron…had to go on zoladex when I moved to nz… I hated it and dreaded the tummy shot which was painful and no fun! I luckily got to go back to Lupron. It is much easier shot to take. I had no side effects on it other than vaginal dryness…this is easily overcome with a great product called replens. Just buy it…works great!

I’ve received Lupron for the past four years and the only side effects I’ve experienced are occasional hot flashes.

Hi Kimberly, I got blurry vision that turned out to be dry eyes. It got worse the first three weeks after each shot, and then resolved on the fourth week -- I needed to use OTC eye drops regularly for this. My hands and hips started feeling arthritic after three months, which got better after taking collagen tablets (Dr. Schiff's), but didn't really resolve until I stopped Lupron. I also got hot flashes regularly, but 6 sessions of almost-weekly acupuncture made them go away.
