Need advice on how to broach topic

My vax rounds will be done soon.

I want to take a little trip, a drive or something, on my own for a few days....while I can still more than take care of myself very well.

But, if I tell my family this is what I want, they'll get worried probably, and either try to talk me out of it, try to offer to come with me (completely not the goal), etc.

Any advice or experience to share?

Just be truthful and tell them you will contact them every day but you need time out for yourself. Anyone that cares for you will understand.

I understand your dilemma! I would like to go on a road trip with girl friends while I still have the energy. I’m afraid my husband’s feelings will be hurt. I think the only thing I can do is schedule two trips...one with him, one with girlfriends. Can you schedule a second trip with your family?
