Hello everyone. First off I wanted to say a big thank you for all your suggestions on trying to help me get financial help ( my copay last month was $2500.00). I have tried everything and I’m working on my application to Pfizer.
My reason for reaching out today is, I’m taking Ibrance and letrozole. The Ibrance is making me nauseous. I’ve tried different meds but found too many side effects. I do drink marshmallow root tea and that helps somewhat. Just wondering how anyone else manages this. Thank you.

I am on the same cocktail and have nausea sometimes. I take Letrozole at night and Ibrance in the morning. I have noticed the nausea in the late afternoon. My MO gave me Ondansetron ODT 8mg tablets (they dissolve on your tongue) and they seem to help. I have not noticed any side effects from taking these. I also drink ginger ale sometimes and that seems to help.
I was prescribed the same for nausea but only for a week as they’re very constipating which can increase nausea...so beware... I have cyclazine nowNairn’s make an oatmeal biscuit with stem ginger...nice to nibble if you can’t eat...get from Amazon
I’m on Xeloda which has to be taken with food...morning dose obviously a nightmare as I can’t possibly eat a meal so I use the biscuits
Hi Barb so sorry you are having trouble with eating. I have been thinking of you and wondering how you where getting along. Have they said if these side effects will lesson or go away after a time on this treatment? Take care I'm wishing the best for you!! I know some are not into the religious thing but I do believe so I'm saying 🙏 prayers for you.
It’s been 3 years being on Both and I had switch to taking IBrance at night and Letrozole in the morning and it helped tremendously !!! Of course I’m also on Morphine 2 X daily and Oxycodone 1 X daily and Medical Marijuana Which is a Big Help !! When I do start to feel nausea I take one hit off the vape and it’s instantly gone , my pain Dr prefers that I don’t smoke But I said one hit is all that is needed and for the body I do 10 MG of edibles 1X daily and I feel like I’ve done a 5 min stretch and my whole body is relaxed Beyond belief for a good 6 hrs . I do work without any problems . I can’t believe that your Dr has not applied for you to be on the Pfizer program it doesn’t cost you anything , of course it has to be renewed every year and I do have to send my tax return / scared me at first because of the amount of money I make But All Good Be Well 🕊🕊🕊
Thank you for your advice!! I will try your idea of switching my Ibrance at night and letrozole in the morning. I am waiting for my tax return to be done and the I will submit my application to Pfizer. Like you I am nervous about what we make, but any amount would help. Stay strong!
I take my ibrance and letrozole together right after dinner, haven't had any nausea, but you'll probably have to figure out what works best for you. ❤️
I have never had any issues with Ibrance or Letrozole. I take Letrozole with lunch. Ibrance with dinner. It’s important to take these at the same time every day. My phone alarm is set at 1:45 pm and 6:00 pm.
I had nausea for awhile when I first started taking the Ibrance and Letrozole. I take them at night with dinner. I used ginger chews which I bought on Amazon and organic ginger/lemon tea. The nausea lasted about a week and a half.
I am single and my oncologist finance office said as long as my income is under $63,000 I would qualify for Pfizer assistance. I have a different co pay assistance till May. I also take my Ibrance at night with Aromasin. This way I will be sleeping during side effects.
Yes I’m definitely going to switch my meds to the night. Our income is about 100,000 so I’m not too sure they will help but I hope so. We still have a mortgage and car payments among other things🙏🏻🙏🏻
I also take my Ibrance in the evening with dinner. I have a few days here and there that I get nauseous but ginger tea really helps. I have taken Zofran for nausea but I get a headache the following day so I will only take it if the tea fails. 😊 I also had my dosage lowered from 125mg to 100mg because of low neutrophils, I have felt great on this first month of 100mg.
I haven't experienced nausea on the Palbociclib Letrozole combo but I have experienced nausea in the past for other reasons and I know that it is a horrible feeling. So I am trying to come up with something that could maybe help you. I don't know if this would help but maybe drinking ginger tea made fresh with grated ginger or ginger candy. Costco sells some dried ginger. It is really yummy but it has lots of sugar - so that is not good for you - but maybe you could soak the pieces in warmish water and get rid of the sugar. I hope you find a solution because the Palbociclib Letrozole combo is working well for me and is stopping the tumors from growing so I think it is a good combo of drugs. I hope to be able to continue taking it for a long time. I hope the nausea is a temporary effect so you can continue with those drugs. I wish you the best. Hugs Marlene
