That's interesting. I'm on highest dose of Ibrance but was told cure was not possible, it would always be there. However my lymphodema specialist who researches all of these things told me that everyone has bad cells in their body, our problem is that the lymphatic system has failed to keep them in check for some reason.Anyway I think feeling well is good as it makes you more positive , so you're right about having correct dosage for the person concerned. Good luck, Carolynx

No cure for cancer period

If you don’t have metastatic cancer have cancer in one spot that did not spread then it can be cured unfortunately once it spreads it becomes metastatic and best you can do unfortunately is keep under control

No cancer is ever cured! It always remains in lymphatic system waiting to break out. It annoys me that doctors have told patients for years that they were cured when they always knew better. But I feelLike remission is As good as a “cure”. I have gone with that in mind for 23 years

Just wondering what dosage you are on now. My oncologist would start me on 1000 mg. of Xeloda as Ibrance lowered my immune system badly even at the lowest dose and regimen. I have opted to stay on Ibrance/Faslodex one week on/one week off or switch from Faslodex to Exemstrane. Hoping one of these work. Best wishes to you. Take care.

Cheers, June S.

Best to you also🙂

Thanks Barb. That is quite a difference from my suggested regimen of 1000 mg. I don't know how she would regulate that each week. I haven't started Xeloda yet.

Cheers, June S.

I’m doing 1500 in the morning and same in the evening with two weeks on and one week off and tolerating that pretty well. I have more energy than on Ibrance, but still find myself nodding off when I’m not engaged with something. Good luck on your new dosage.

I have been on the 1 week on, 1 week off Xeloda plan since April - 1500 total each day. Chest and lung Mets gone and liver Mets are smaller. The side effects aren’t terrible, but when I get the urge to go to the bathroom, I do not hesitate!

Thanks Sandra, it makes me feel a bit better to be reminded that somehow I have managed, by the grace of God, to stay alive to raise my four children, youngest now 25 (only 2 at the time), 28,30 and 40. I do feel guilty to put my family though this suffering over and over again. But then, some women (far too many) never have the chance to go so long. My first bout was stage 3+ with bilateral/tram, A/C,Taxol and radiation then 10 years of estrogen stopping pills. Then stage 4 in 2017 to pleural fluid. I only did Ibrance for a few months and stayed on letrozole for the 3 years until it didn't work. Now three years later I am in the fight again, not having positive emotions and working hard in attempt to correct that. I am back on Ibrance 125mgs and now Faslodex for two weeks and seeing some liver function markers trend down. I am cautiously optimistic. You ladies help me a great deal and I am so grateful.Bonnie

Hi where are you located? In the UK they refuse to put you back on ibrance due to the cost even though it seems to work again free a break. I did well for 18 months on it

Im in US. Ibrance costs me big bucks in copay, $2600 for two months $1400 next then $650 each after for the remainder of the calendar year! It is wrong! If I was not on medicare I would not be paying. And in the states, Medicare premium is paid each month. Not like I don't pay for insurance.
