Convinced I have massive spread of cancer
Oh, Kiera49, I'm so sorry!!
I'm not discounting your fear, but I'll mention that I'm sure many of us get the same feeling, i.e. that whatever we're experiencing is a symptom of progression/cancer...Usually it's not, but sometimes of course it is...
When you write that they say you have pneumonia, is this based on some diagnostic test or "just" perhaps some difficulty breathing? If it's the former, I'd take comfort in that and then try somehow to rein in your fears. If it's the latter, I'd def contact your onc about it?
Again, I'm so sorry...the fear and worry is just horrible, robbing us of our peace of mind/contentedness...
I do hope you get it sorted out soon...Please let us know how it goes...
Best,
Lynn
Yes was diagnosed they did xray that showed infection on my left lung and blood tests that showed I had infection markers, sorry was a bit neurotic earlier, of course stay cant distinguish between tumour and just infection, dizziness I had last time with Ibrance so could be just meds playing up, I'm going to think positive and face the dreaded scan in october. Thanks for replying
Hi Tracey,
I am sorry to hear of your fears. Have you been diagnosed with pneumonia or do your doctors suspect that's what is responsible for your symptoms? If it's just a suspicion, I would push for a diagnosis, then you can be treated more effectively. Please let us have an update on your condition when you know more.
Take care,
Sophie
Hi Sophie yes diagnosed with pneumonia on left lung, so on anti biotics got dreaded scan coming up in October, temp was 37.8 but now normal. Sorry was panicking my poor lungs have to cope with cancer is hard enough, without infection as well. Sometimes I get paranoid so sorry, thanks for replying
*I smiled at your use of the word "paranoid"...I think they should just list "paranoia" as a "symptom" of this disease, we all have it sometimes, I'm sure!
Hi Tracey,
There's no need to apologise. You are going through a really scary experience, so of course you are feeling panicky at this time. I hope the antibiotics kick in and you are soon feeling better. Hopefully your scans will be good in October. Mine are due towards the end of October, so I will be looking out for an appointment letter soon.
Sophie
Hi Kiera49,
I’ll say try not to worry but of course we all know that’s easier said than done. Hopefully the antibiotics will clear up the infection and you will start feeling better which In turn will give you some peace of mind.
Hang in there girl!
Stacy
Sinus infection! It’s going around...I spent a day or two freaking over brain Mets as well. But no, standard change of weather sinus infection....ZPac and Sudafed and Motrin does the trick...😀....but yes we think the worst....
Hey Tracey, please don't apologize or feel paranoid. Of course you think this is massive spread. It's only natural. But, you've had a chest xray that shows the infection. You've had a fever. You've been short of breath. Low oxygen saturation causes dizziness. All consistent with pneumonia. I can tell you I had it years ago and EVERYTHING hurt! It was crazy.
Please rest and take care of yourself. We are here to pull you back from the ledge when you need us. If you have a favorite laugh-out-loud movie, maybe you could watch it. You need to smile a little. Know you have friends wrapping you in virtual blankets and feeding you virtual chicken soup. 💕
Much love, Andi
Thank you everyone
Onc wants me to go in and see her, silly me says it must be bad news even though she hasn't any results for me she wants to check I'm ok after not being very well
Thanks me too, thanks a lot
I'm so sorry you aren't feeling well. I know the terror of different feelings that the cancer has spread. I think we just seem to jump to that conclusion.
Please try to stay positive because Pneumonia will make you feel awful, but is treatable and will be taken care of and you will begin to feel well again.
Love,
Marianne
Back in hospital with pneumonia onc5said it may be cancer and if it is may be best to give up treatment after only 2nd line of treatment
Youre having such a tough time you must be so fed up and anxious. I would say perhaps delaying treatment for a short spell may be a good idea to allow your immune system/neutraphils to build back up and fight the pneumonia but not to give up treatment altogether. I hope you get it all sorted out very soon and start to feel better. Sending best wishes and positive vibes. X
