Anyone who has received cancellations in NY or any other state in US that were supposed to get injections?

I am supposed to get my injections, blood work and meeting with onco on Thursday. I want to cancel. I do not trust getting into car service, touching anything, being at the center ONLY because of how quickly in a few days the Mayor has changed his stance. A week or so ago I would have said I was going with no problem. But now since he closed the schools quickly and seems to be changing his tune, I would rather pass up this month to get my injections and blood work done. I have better odds of surviving longer with the cancer even spreading when I do if I get this virus. Then I am a goner. I know this.

I was shocked NOT to receive any cancellations and I have no worries about missing the injections for one month. I have a bad habit of always forgetting to take my PM Verzenio dose and once as an experiment I stopped taking it for two months and my next CT scan was stable.

I expected them to cancel, they have not. I do not want to go in. Stupid me...I sent a group email to all my onco, pain specialist, hemo, pa, etc. and all came back as undeliverable. I had this problem the last time and my onco said it is all right on there said. I asked a friend to try and send them from her verizon.net email address and they came back as undeliverable.

I was on phone with Office 365 Microsoft for two hours last week and an hour this week ONLY to realize that I had failed (and my email names usually come in if I put the first three letters in).

Well, I am too stupid to be alive. I spent all day on phone with internet and aol and my friends who said maybe you have wrong email address and I said NO. That is not it.

After I hung out, (I had all their business cards), I checked and sure enough I was missing the words med in their email addresses and they kept coming up wrong so last week two hours on internet, on phone with Maimonides IT saying they had issues, on phone with Microsoft for Outlook again for two hours.

Since 10 am. Finally I decide to check and I was missing the word meds. in the email address.

If I had checked from the very beginning, I would have realized right away. If I could lift my foot/leg high enough, I would kick myself in the butt for stupidity.

Please let me know if anyone in NY or any other state had had their appts. cancelled even if due for injections. Please, before I send another email to the whole group (this time with the correct email addresses. I tire myself. LOL

You should be on the View or the Talk and give those gals a reality check

I spoke to my oncologist in Tampa yesterday. My labs & shots are next Tuesday. She said only patients requiring ongoing treatment are coming in. All other appointments have been moved out so, other than their IV chemo patients, they are seeing only 8-10 patients per day. She said I must come in for my blood work & shots. No visitors are allowed unless they are a required caregiver. Everyone’s temperature is checked at the door. Must complete & sign their questionnaire. They are using All the sanitizing, social distancing, & other precautions.

She said do not stop taking your IBrance or shots.

So I’m going in next Tuesday.

I cancelled out of fear only bc in NY the Mayor and Gov. seemed to suddenly realize the seriousness of what is going on and decided late Sunday to close all schools and now shut down on restaurants, gyms, bars, etc. so then I got scared about having to take car service to the center for my injections and meeting with my onco and blood tests. I was able to reschedule for 4/2 and then my onco called me at home and said it was not a problem. I am sure by then after this week I will be calmer again.

Plus Governor Cuomo said today that NY has the highest number of cases thus far of people who have the virus.

I had my regular appointment yesterday but I am in Florida. Schools are closed, restaurants have to seat people six feet apart, drive thru's still open. Grocery stores packed. I haven't heard of any coronavirus cases locally but that could be due to testing not readily available. Must be high risk with symptoms in order to be tested. Low risk under sixty is not tested and told to self isolate. Lack of testing in U.S . and the dismantling of Pandemic Dept.

and cutting budgets and staff of CDC FDA, NIH and refusing testing kits from WHO is costing us lots of lives and thrown us into huge debt. We need 300,000,000 tests now . Hopefully, soon. Blessings Hannah 🙏

My non-onc appts have been cancelled and if I were in your shoes, I would probably call my onc's office and speak with my onc's nurse about cancelling. Especially if I were in NYC and relying on any kind of public transportation! I am in a rural area of the midwest and our local grocery store offers online ordering and then parking lot pick up. We're going to use that for awhile After all we go thru with mbc, I sure don't want to get this stupid coronavirus! My maternal grandfather got the flu during the 1918 epidemic and his employer sent him to Hawaii to recover! It took a full year for him to be able to go to work again, as a civil engineer. He worked on bridge projects all over the world, and died a couple of years before my mom and dad met. Wish I had known him!

Wow...My onco does not have a nurse. She has a PA that she shares with other oncos. But she called me at home. I get free car service (I do not drive) to and from ALL doctors appts., not just cancer-related since besides Medicare as my primary (I am on SSDI), I now also have full Medicaid as my secondary so whatever Medicare does not pay for (which is alot in US), Medicaid pays for . Medicaid even pays for My medicare Premiums for Plan B which is I think this year $144.00 a month and pays my $37.90 for my Medicare Plan D (rx).

It took alot of paper work and I had the help of an attorney at the cancer center who said she does about 500 pooled trust funds per month so I have dual coverage and I know I am blessed. I do not pay for anything, not even a co-payment.

I was just all of a sudden terrified of taking car service. Who was in there, is it clean...I am more worried about the virus then my cancer. At least with my cancer I have tools in place. I feel if I get this virus (I have lungs mets) and like all you compromised immune systems and I am 60, I won't make it. This is my fear. We rescheduled for 4/2 and I think that at least my fear will calm down a bit and I will be able to go.
