My mum's not able to complete the 14 days cycl of xoledo.she has experienced lose motions and then we have to stop for a day or two to start again and reach 14 days.

Has anyone of you experienced this ?

Innira,

You might want to talk to your mother's oncologist about Xeloda dose and frequency.

Cycle -

I know different cancer centers and oncologists have different protocols. My cancer center's (Memorial Sloan Kettering) protocol is 7 days on and 7 days off. They have found that this cycle works best at reducing side effects. I don't believe I could tolerate an 8th straight day of Xeloda.

Dose -

Also, according to my oncologist, it is often necessary to reduce the dose because it builds up in your body making side effects worse. After about 6 months, my dose was reduced from 3,000 mg per day to 2,500 mg per day.
