There is a pretty old clinical trial that is getting closer to completion using this with copper supplement (it works better with copper absorption into cancer cells). The trial was over in Czech Republic I believe. I have emailed the Docs a couple of times just asking if it was showing positive result but no answer. I noticed there is a week old article published in nature that has a section that covers disulfiram mentioning there is predictive aspects from the breast cancer you have (or other cancers) to know if it will likely be effective. the study states: 16q deletion [Chromosome 16q deletion is a chromosome abnormality that occurs when there is a missing (deleted) copy of genetic material on the long arm (q) of chromosome 16] is a potential predictive biomarker of disulfiram and other copper-dependent cytotoxic agents. This finding is clinically relevant because arm-level 16q loss is seen in many tumor types, most notably BREAST and ovarian cancers, where its prevalence is estimated at 55–65% and 55–76%, respectively."

It appears to me that the disulfiram tablet and copper supplement tablet taken daily may have potential to help 55-76% of breast cancer patients. I want to start it because it is inexpensive and I don't think it has any known interations with current treatment I use. I guess I will ask my oncologist about seeing if they can check for 16q deletion (but that may be hard as I don't think I currently have active metastasis (wish they kept the original biopsy sample in a freezer)). Short of not being able to check to see if there is the chromosome issue I could just get the disulfiram from regular doctor saying I want help to stop drinking!! hehe and take it anyhow as there is greater than 50% chance it will be helpful.

Confusing to understand for the average lay person.
