High Blood Pressure

Has anyone developed high blood pressure after starting treatment? Did you start taking BP meds?

I have started to but that's probably because I have eaten too many fatty foods long before I started treatment. I am beginning to work with myself on eating better, exercise more.

Yes I did. Once the readings were consistently high I was given norvasc5 mg. It is under control now. It started about a year into treatment. It’s three years now.

This is something I would talk with my onc about. High blood pressure can be age related. Some folks find out they have high blood pressure seemingly out of the blue. One of the difficult things about living with this blasted cancer is that we see every new bodily change thru the cancer lens...... and sometimes that's it and sometimes it isn't! I was on meds for high blood pressure long before cancer and they have kept my bp under control. But I do call my onc's office and talk with a nurse ASAP when a new symptom pops up. Good luck to you! I've taken ziac for high bp since I was 40 and lost weight in my sixties and went off bp meds altogether for a year and bp was starting to edge back up since I stopped the diet and started eating the wrong things again, so I went back on the ziac, minus the diuretic which has a long name because it's generic version, long story short, 4 mos. into ibrance and cholesterol is higher than ever and blood pressure skyrocketed the other day with chest pains. I am not telling anyone ibrance is bad, I'm just saying my experience. Also, I have always had a very sensitive system to many different medicines, so there IS that ... and I know my body. <3 xo God bless and heal us all in Jesus name, amen!
