Hmmm....my brain is mush, but I know that my onc said that the next treatment for me will also be a "good lifestyle" treatment...I think everolimus, maybe? Not sure if that's hormone related or more about a mutation in my cancer that was revealed through genomic testing. Have you already done Palbo (Ibrance) + Letrezole? If you haven't, I assume that'll be next for you...it's another good one. The tails on the PFS (progression-free survival) curves for this stuff are so long...For some women, they last a very long time...Hoping that for you!

Hello Amitgarg27.

What I have learned is there are different combinations of med/treatments to try when one stops working for you. And remember, everyday scientists are working on new ones. I recently had to change from letrozole to faslodex. For a day or two I was down about it, but now I am hopeful that this combo works better and longer than before. Stay positive!

Hello again. Yes, there are other treatments. I don't know a lot about chemotherapy and radiation options, but I can tell you about my experience so far with hormone therapy. After being on Letrozole, I was on Afinitor (a targeted therapy) and Exemestane (an aromotase inhibitor like letrozole). Then, I was on Faslodex and Ibrance.

I believe my next treatment will be Xeloda, which is an oral chemotherapy.

Letrozole - one and a half years. Afinitor and Exemestane - two years. Faslodex and Ibrance - 2 years. Also, Zometa infusions for five years (once every 3 months), then Xgeva injections, which replaced Zometa - every two months. Hope this helps.

There is plenty of hope, at least 6 lines of treatment, and new ones in the pipeline. I know many who are living much longer than expected.

My oncologist always tells me about other options of what I am on stops working. Keep the faith. I am sure if it stops working there are many other options.
