Is anyboday currently taking or has taken Abraxane? If so what kind of side effects did you have and what is the recovery time from one dose to the next?

Hi My3girls,

I was dx’d 2014 Mets to lungs. I did 12 rounds ( I think) of Abraxane. I had great results with it. I was told most people can only go 7 to 8 rounds because of peripheral neuropathy in hands and feet. I did green juicing and I don’t know if that helped. Besides my hair falling out around 3rd round, I would have diarrhea within 2 hours of infusion. Otherwise I can’t say it made me sick. I feel mild neuropathy in feet. Nothing that impairs me in any way. I hope you have good results also!

Hi, I have been out of the loop for over a month, 'cause we've just moved from Maryland to Florida. Just wanted you to know I'm in my 2nd month of treatment with Abraxane and all is great! I only have problems with low blood counts and fatigue. I have my infusion on Mondays, and I recover by Thursday or Friday. Will have a petscan after next month's cycle, so near end of September. I also take Xgeva, as I have mets to bones (as well as liver and lymph nodes). Part of my fatigue could be due to this major household move... and house guests..... be SURE to drink lots of water leading up to your infusion and at LEAST for the next few days after. Wishing you well!

Do you get infusions every 3 weeks or every week?

I get one per week for three weeks, then a week off.

After I reread nstonerocks reply, I was reminded that I've lost most of my hair, as well. It was a shocker, but I can certainly handle it, if it works!! :-)
