Ibrance Affordability
I know really. I’m in Atlanta and I go to North Side which will pay for your pills. Chemo no, I had to pay 20%, way to much. My friend lost her rental and we downsized. But some large companies have a program for non generic meds. Like Merk, Lilly who pays for mine. Who can really afford 11k a month? There are all sorts of programs, you need to call and just use your income. They have tons of money and can afford to help you. This is sad but I have a whole bottle of Ibrance I can’t take because he changed me to Verzenio 11k. I can’t afford that, just happens where I go has this program. Let me know what you find out, have you asked your oncologist? They want you to take your medicine because it’s a matter of life and letting this disease progress. Call the Cancer society, they have programs. Good luck 👍....
Are you in the U.S.? Pfizer has an Ibrance copay card you can apply for online. I would have to pay $250 copay with my insurance but I have zero copay with this program.
Yes I am in US. Thank you. I will reach out to Pfizer.
If you are treated at a cancer center, rather than a small practice, there are likely people on the staff there who know what resources are available for patients and what it takes to qualify for them. I've been fortunate that my insurance has covered everything, sometimes with a reasonable co pay. But I've known people who can't pay the ridiculous prices of some treatment. I don't know if this is true anymore, but it used to be that people who had high medical bills could apply for Medicaid, the state program for low income people, and once they had spend a certain amount in the year for medical expenses, everything else would be covered. That helped alot of middle income people who had medical conditions that were really expensive to treat. I hope you will find what you need and deserve so you can get the treatment your onc recommends for you.
If you are NOT on Medicare and you have good insurance, your copay is not outragious. If you are on Medicare, you are screwed.
yep....I am on medicare.
Just saw this now after posting about cost in another response above. I am retired and on Medicare with supplemental insurance that I pay for. Was told that Medicare didn't cover, but my oncologist's office found grants that are paying. The first six-month grant was from "Patient Advocate Foundation Co-pay Relief." Basically I had to send them a copy of tax return and coverage was practically instant. That one expired, and I now have assistance from the "PAN Foundation (Patient Access Network)." The specialty pharmacy handled that one--just asked for my income information and it was approved in a day. I believe your doctor needs to initiate contact with these organizations and/or the pharmacy, but if you'd like their contact info, let me know.
Thank you for the information. I appreciate it.
