Hi, I take 70 chemo pills a day one week on one week off and sneak in vitamins since they told me not to, wake up most mornings like I ran 10 marathons gets better during day with pain patch & norcos, without them I would not want to continue even with faith in God.hope you are doing good.

I'd be curious what those pills are. I take Xeloda for my bone Mets and receive infusions of Zometa once a month. I'll have my last infusion tomorrow and then will not get another one for 3 months. I believe I'll be on that schedule for a good while and then it may be given every 6 months. I have bloodwork every month in order to check my tumor markers. They go up and down each month but my Oncologist said that this is normal. Should they keep rising I'll be put on another oral chemo drug like Ibrance or Letrozole. I don't even want to think about it. I've been on the Xeloda regime for almost 1 1/2 years so far. It agrees with me so I'd like to stay on it for as long as possible. I too take supplements like a good natural whole-food multivitamin from the Health Food Store, plus take Milk Thistle to protect my liver. Am mixing up energy drinks with Whey Protein which is a powder in order to keep my energy level up. This is better than Ensure and Boost as it has more vitamins and minerals and less artificial colors and less sugar which is a definite no no! I showed my doctor these supplements and he said they were fine to take with my treatments.

I also bought a juicer and am starting to juice organic carrots which are supposed to be wonderful for someone with Cancer. Lots of Vitamin D which goes directly into your bloodstream when you drink it. I bought a juicing book that shows other combinations to make....very simple additions to the carrots like an apple, a lime, or an orange, even celery which is delicious.

We need to do everything we can to fight this disease! I'm feeling much stronger than I did a year ago and I think the supplements help. Had a CT scan, brain MRI and skeletal x-Rays in Sept. CT scan and brain MRI showed up negative, but there was Cancer still in my spine, ribs, and pelvis. The Zometa helped in recalcifying the fractures that I had in those bones. If I walk too much or do too much physically, I'll be in lots of pain and must use my Lidocaine patches, Voltaren gel which is like a Ben Guay but is a prescription, and use Ibuprophen and my heating pad. Sometimes I feel like my posture is off and it's hard to stand up straight. I'm trying to strengthen my body by walking outside. It's a battle, but like all of you out there, I'm fighting.

Hang in there! Will keep you in my prayers.
