Hello! I'm looking for this who had a mastectomy and can share best bras, sports bras, swimsuits, and breast forms. I had one breast removed in Dec 2017. I do not care for the silicon prosthetic I was given. Bras do not stay in place. I currently am wearing a cotton filled pocket but that won't last in water. I am pretty sure I do not want to go through reconstructive surgery. All you experiences and knowledge would be appreciated! Dancegal

Life after mastectomy
Have you gone to Underneath It All? They were wonderful and so helpful when I was going through reconstruction. Their whole business is selling items for women dealing with breast cancer. I will always be grateful for them for all the help and understanding. They have two locations in New York - one at 320 Fifth Avenue.
I have recently gone to Townshop on Broadway - upper Westside - I think in the 70s. I don’t have a prosthesis but they have a selection of bras.
I think I’ve seen mastectomy bras in the Lands End website.
Have you tried any Amoena products, they have a website. But, check with your oncology nurses to find a local store that has the products you are looking for. Keep in mind some of these products may be covered by insurance
Hi Dancegal!
I just had the right side removed as well...I use a crotcheted breast form made for swimming from awesomebreastforms.com...they are free. I velcroed mine to inside of suit. So it’s removable and washable...I use sports bras by Victoria Secrets with my silicon form. I get the ones with the double liner. The inner layer snaps and the outer layer zips up. I put the form in between the 2 layers and it stays in place. I also found that the mastectomy bras would drupe by the end of the day. Which was disappointing as u would think they would be extra supportive with your form! Hope this helps!
-Blessings!
Thank you so much Rhwright12! This really helps! Do you have the style number (s) of the Victoria Secret sports bra (s)? I will look into the awesomebreastform website.
