I am starting chemo in a few weeks and am considering the "cold cap". I would appreciate hearing from those who have used it. Thank you!

Hi KarLen. You may want to contact The Rapunzel Project, rapunzelproject.org. They are a great cold cap resource.

The cold cap works better with some chemo protocols than others. Find out exactly which drugs you will be getting before making a decision. It may or may not be worth the expense ...

I used penguin cold caps last year! Call them direct. They worked for me! You need two people to help.

I used them during my 12 weeks of taxol chemo and they were a life saver for me. I had barely any hair loss and it was a huge mental boost for me as I was battling other side effects of chemo and complications from surgery. Everything seemed to go wrong for me but the cold caps worked and just helped me and my boys cope with my diagnosis. I highly recommend penguin cold caps they’re not for all types of chemo so check with company - we had local helpers here who were experienced and helped us the first few treatments. Good luck! Hope they work as well as they didn’t for me!

This worked for me. I lost some hair but not that much! For me it made feel better about myself and look normal to my kids.
