Brugada Syndrome is a rare inherited heart rhythm disorder, in which the heart is structurally normal. The risks posed is experiencing a rapid heart rhythm due to the ion channels (pores in the cellular membrane that allow the passage of ions across the impermeant lipid cell membrane) of the heart.

Signs and symptoms of Brugada can be irregular or rapid/erratic heart rhythm, that can lead to a sudden cardia arrest (SCA) if left undetected or treated.

Visit the Arrhythmia Alliance website for further information: heartrhythmalliance.org/aa/... and download the 'Brugada Syndrome' patient information sheet; api.heartrhythmalliance.org...
