After my partners cardiac arrest last year he has developed itching skin mainly on legs and his sides. Has anyone come across this before it’s driving him mad, doctor said moisturiser wil help but it doesn’t.

1. Is he taking statins? I took atorvastatin. It started with itching and ended, years later, in muscle spasms preventing me walking before a clever locum doctor realised the link. They tried rosuvastatin and that did bad things too, more quickly.

2. Not all moisturisers are the same. I found the ones based on good old vaseline worked best at managing the symptom, but some others actually made it worse. Nothing stopped it while I was taking the drugs though.

Good luck. Itching is hell. I found Eurax helped suppress the itch, but it's expensive. Others say diprobase helps butit did little for me.

Most likely drug-related. Have a chat with your doctor and some blood tests for liver functions. Good luck

I'm also figuring out some same issues and all stears me back to blood thinner and atorvastatin here.I tell the heart doc and she doubles the atorvastatin...what is wrong with picture.Bruising unbelievable, stomache fluish all over...bloodthinner is bralynta., since on it liver test also changes....I stopped for 2 days, do not do this...but i will say i felt so much better.I am teaching the 30 something doc....I'm thankful to be alive, don't get me wrong but i have MS also and the extra pain etc...they need to listen to their consumer! Itching top thought meds, which ones(i have a bundle)....changes in anything that touches the skin can do it...i had colistatic (sp) jaundice(ok didn't spell that right) but it was as itchy as a bee sting.Seriously i itched so bad i took a wire hair brush to it.Smart specialist...put me on a malaria med and settled it all...I pray you find out.

Brillianta is a really strong drug with really BAD side effects !! I couldn’t breathe on it .. horrible - Effient another heart drug caused me such severe bruising ( from no apparent reason) looked like I had been beat to hell! It’s like they blamed me for having these side effects - they are very real !!Mamy of us are chemically sensitive - they don’t know what to do so they ignore us !Doctors just want to keep putting us on these drugs but side effects ( which they seldom admit too) are horrendous..they don’t listen they just want to fit u into a box labeled heartattack ! Many of us just can’t tolerate these drugs !! Dr need to acknowledge our complaints!!

I finally got off all of them.. my body was much happier!! I take a low dose aspirin ..

I agree a statin in my case simvastatin - Even had pins & needles attributed to Raynauds , which did have as a child in that fingers turned blue allergic to weather but as soon as did below never had pins & needles again or that horrendous itching again NB The Minor Injuries refused to address as regarded as chronic are they Insurance rather than ethically directed? Why then are the same Nurses triaging in A&E omitting the most relevant symptoms such as spasticity spasms & poor urine flow on neurogenic bladder that has never been catheterised deliberately refusing to address history & genetics dept was the Consultant went over to triaging but did not stay long ?Could it be all those who had monitoring apps cut were going round like headless chickens .And what was recorded wasn't the correct scenario as are many of letters sent from hospitals to non responsible Drs which can't be legal ?As for Assessments not done by the appropriately qualified in academic institution

In between the below, had taken the homeopathic & herbal which had helped a little & piriton for allergies .Although my allergies now relate to primary cellulitis from birth affecting the microvascular& CFS / fibro trigger points not showing up on non operational equipment eg: With MI had angioplasty yet stable & unstable angina only showing up via symptoms - clusters which Doctors ignore saying "one thing at a time" Is this the best the Universities can do when have 3-4 disabilities underlying ? Have they ever honoured the NHS Constitution

Surely this madness does not make sense as history is disregarded as the old medical schools taught the Drs ,usually from a Family of Drs according to Late Father pharmacist - Who researched at every stage balancing out symptoms with tests [ questionable re how current equipment is .

Taking 15 preventative medications which found hard to get head around but take religiously , but ,so as life didn't revolve around had a dosset box & delivery .It originally came without information re side effects or identification on the tablet or paperwork .When eventually saw these stopped spreading out when I take what e.g.: Thyroxine. My Late Grandmother wife of a pharmacist also regularly maintained over 50 years ago that you needed to watch the interactions if many conditions and she had the directories - one of first women teachers. This has become ingrained in me surely this is right health is not exact science & does not stay still it develops on for better or worse?
