Has anyone experienced viral myocarditis? It's been 4 months since I was in the ICU. I'd love to talk with someone who has gone through this.

Viral Myocarditis
I had it in 2004, and still suffering the consequences. Nevertheless I'm fortunate To be here! It started with something that I thought was 'flu, but after a fortnight I was feeling far worse, and my pulse was racing along at 120bpm+. GP sent me to A&E, who put me in ICU immediately. I had heart failure, lung failure, kidney failure, and liver failure. After 4 days in ICU, I was about to be taken to Newcastle for a liver transplant, when suddenly, vital signs began to improve. I spent a month at home recovering, but the legacy was a cardiac arrhythmia, said to have been caused by the heart enlarging due to the virus, and the neural pathways being stretched. Now, after countless cardioversion procedures, and 6 (invasive) ablations, heart rate is now normal, and kept in check with daily drugs. I'd like to know your story Kelly.
Best wishes, Notle
I don't know. Much of the time in ICU I didn't have a sensible thought in my head. I hallucinated wildly, and felt I was floating next to the ceiling. Reality dawned slowly, as I started to recover. Then I became frightened and just wanted to go home. None of it made any sense until I was fully conscious once again. I think I experienced most or all of the thoughts and feelings of someone who's dying.
