I had a heart attack in 2007. They put in a stent (LDA). I have been recently told that I can Not have an MRI because of the stent. Can anyone verify this?

Hi there, I have 2 stents and I have done 2 MRI scans since. The last MRI was just 5 weeks after the second stent, and they had to contact my cardiologist to confiirm if it was OK! Usually must wait 6 weeks after the stents are fitted.

You need to check with your cardiologist. It depends what kind of stents they are and how long you've had them.
