Hello all,

New to this but looking for advice. I'm 46 years old keen cyclist who was regularly doing over 100 miles a week. Until boom... June 2016 heart attack and one stent fitted. Taking all the usual meds. But feel dreadful what should I expect after 9 months😪

Started feeling better after only a few weeks. Got back on the bike and had a few anxiety problems 😩. Back doing 20 miles and resistance training feeling ok. HR 45. Bp 110 / 60. Had a chest infection in January. Since then pins and needles left hand. Bp creeping up. Light headed when HR taken to 120. Waves of breathlessness. Nothing like I had before the heart attack just not quite right. 😳

Hi similar for me, 56 and just got back from a run when pain in chest hit. What our cases prove is that you cannot outrun/train a bad diet. I decided to find out all I could about heart disease as it was clear that I was getting very little information from the Cardio and doctors. I have been blogging about my findings as a way of note taking since at

Hi yeah had mine nearly a year ago and still getting used to the fact that my body has gone through a massive change. I was 48 at the time at the time I must admit I thought how the he'll am I going to get though this. But after the first 6 months it gets easier saying that I've just come off the blood thin tablets so now just down to taking 4 tablets a day but there is nothing to say you can't go back to what you use to do. Just don't push yourself as much and oobviously eat the right foods I. E lots of vegetables and fruit.

Take care.

Hi Frankiemaggs , i really feel sorry to hgear that you are feeling dreadful- you are young , 46 yrs old , i too had stents 3 ,fitted in 2016 , only a little longer ago than you , mine wasApril 23rd , all was weel the first 8 weeks, until my stomach started hurting so bad it prevented me eating proprly , hence losing over 3 stones in weight , , I ended up having several tests, scans ect , all came back negative, nothing wrong ,so my doctor came to the conclusion , my meds were having badside affects and withdrew 2 of them, plus a statin, i now take Perindopril ,Bisoprolol , Clopidogrel ,,Asprin, but sad tosay my stomach is still not right- , now have to be careful in what i eat, never had before being on meds ,fit as a fiddle mind you i am79 years of age , but still walk 3 to 4 miles a day without getting out of breath , ,i hope to hear that you are feeling better soon, x Gill .

You really need to see the doctors involved and get them to take a look at you. You should be better. Maybe not to the same level but getting there.

Yes waiting on scan results maybe expecting to much. Waiting for the weather to break to get back out on the bike. Probably all I'm my head, but I ignored symptoms last year and continued to push myself. Doctors tommrrow keep you informed 😁🚴🏼‍♀️💔🚁

Well good news heart scan all good😁 Bad news tingling in my left hand possibly from trap nerve in my neck😢Well if it ain't one thing..

Interesting I had this also.

The nerve rubs on the bone and causes the tingling.

I had choice of operation to widen the gap to stop the rubbing.

or physiotherapy which I chose and I am pleased to say it has worked.

So don't be afraid it could be a simple fix.

Evidently the doctor was saying the operation is far more common than you would think.
