Pregabalin

My GP has just started me on Pregabalin. I'm halfway through my withdrawal dose of Pramipexole, currently 1 and a half tablets and down to zero in 5 weeks. The RLS is bad. I'm getting to sleep at around 3.00-4.00am.

My initial 2 weeks dose of Pregabalin is just 50mg daily. Is that right? It seems woefully low compared to some of the much higher doses mentioned in these various posts.

50 mg is the correct starting dose for over 65s (75 mg for under 65s).

SueJohnson gave you advice on when and how to increase your pregabalin dose in her reply to your previous post.

"Start it 3 weeks before you are off pramipexole although it won't be fully effective until you are off it for several weeks and your withdrawal symptoms have settled. After that increase it by...25 mg every couple of days until you find the dose that works for you."

Usual effective dose is in the range of 150-450 mg.
