I went in for my restless feet, to see if I could get another medicine for my rls. The dr I saw said, I couldn't go upbove 600 mg. of gabapentin it wouldn't be safe. Ropinirole is the other avenue and the one she feels is the right one. I'm taking 1 mg of Ropinirole a night suppose to take 2 a night. She said drink one cup only of coffee a morning and no more during the day. I drink 1/2 a shot of Whiskey on the weekends totaling 1 full shot a night. She said stop that. When I get the rls to get up and walk around that will help.
I did get a referral for a neurologist but have to wait until May as it's the soonest I can get in.
I am getting my ferritin checked out.
I did find when my rls acts up in the afternoon cannabis seems to dull the feeling temporarily. But at least that's something.
For a dr that claims there isn't much that can be done She sure seemed to know what I should be cutting out of my life. She knows squat as far as I'm concerned. Total waste of time and money.

Did you contact the support group? The person might have a suggestion for a doctor you could see sooner if Dr Earley doesn't have a sooner appointment.
Not a good idea to raise ropinirole dose. In fact, in my opinion, not a good idea to take it at all. How long have you been taking 1mg of Ropinirole? There are a lot of people on this sight who take more than 600mg of Gabapentin. I know we are all different, but alcohol and caffeine, even in small amounts, trigger my RLS.
I've been taking 1 mg of ropinirole for about 2 months. I asked about taking gabapentin higher doses than 600mg. But this dr I saw told me she doesn't think I should take that much gabapentin, and I should continue to take 2 ropinirole at night. I disagree with her and am only taking 1 mg.
My mother’s neurologist does not like increasing Ropinirole dose. Dose escalation is apparently a problem. It can make the disease worse when you come off apparently and it can be a nightmare. She takes one tablet daily
