There is no mention in this article by Poppy Koronka, of possible gambling side effects from Dopamine Agonists (Ropinirole, Pramipexole, Neupro) prescribed for RLS.

The BBC version of the story does say that "Some medications may also make some people more impulsive..." but doesn't name names:

BBC News - NICE asks GPs to identify potential gambling addicts

Fascinating. And strange that they don't mention dopamine agonists when there has been a lot of media news on this very subject over the last few weeks.

Remind me Jools: do we know whether DAs are also an ICD issue when taken for Parkinsons?

Absolutely. Just look at any PD help forum. Many are very angry at PD charity for not doing more to stop it.And NICE guidelines for PD now insist doctors must explicitly warn of the very high risk of ICD and instruct family members to watch out for the behaviour.

Great opportunity for someone to send strongly worded letter to the papers.

All of them.

Name names.

The corresponding NICE article

nice.org.uk/news/articles/n...

does at least includes the following: "Taking medication that may affect impulse control, experiencing safeguarding issues or violence or a family history of gambling that harms could also increase a person’s level of risk."
