I'm looking for a recommendation of a UK based psychiatrist who might have some understanding of DAWS and would also be happy to prescribe Wellbutrin for depression?
If anyone has a name of someone they found useful, I'd be ever so grateful.
Best wishes
Jane

Hi Jane. Sorry to hear about your battle with DAWS. I am unable to advise you, others on this site are qualified to do that, I am not. But I thought I'd share my experience with you. I was on Pramipexole for 20 years and stopped it cold turkey and plunged into what I now know was DAWS. It was bad - terrible anxiety and depression. It took 6 months to stabilise. Be encouraged - there is light at the end of the tunnel - your brain will heal. During this time my Doctor, who was clueless said I had PTSD and prescribed Trazodone, an antidepressant. I also went on Tramadol which has completely controlled the rls. Roll on a year and I am now trying to get rid of unnecessary medications and cutting down the Trazodone so that I can come off it. It is not good. Every reduction hits me with 3 weeks of anxiety, depression and heart palpitations - not as bad as DWAS - but still not nice. If I could go back, I would have braved the DAWS - it does lift - and not put myself on another medication that causes issues when you try and stop it. Trazodone was 'sold' to me as 'safe', but it definitely is not in my case. Mental health and RLS is so tricky. I hope you find a solid solution but please be encouraged because DAWS does lift. You WILL get through it.
