Yes this has been discussed on the forum - in fact when it was just proposed as a draft and invited comments some of us did. If you put AASM Guidelines in the search bar you will see several posts.
Does everyone comply with the iron/ferritin pre-test, 24h meat fast indicated in the guidelines?NB I tried to comment about this on a related, Thyroid community post but was unable (blocked?).
Probably not but the ferritin number will be higher if they don't and not reflect the true ferritin number which is used to decode if the person needs iron supplements.
OK, thanks. The written advice on mum's NHS surgery forms advises against eating meat for 12h before. Do you think another 12h could make a difference?
Surprised to see this in their guidelines: "15. In adults with RLS, the AASM suggests against the use of bupropion for the treatment of RLS (Conditional recommendation, moderate certainty of evidence)."
In drafting the Guidelines they looked at research which there really isn't much on bupropion which is Wellbutrin for RLS since it is mainly an anti-depressant..
