Does anyone know if the NHS website is up to date on meds for RLS.

My condeine has been stopped by my doctors as a controlled med. The NHS website says a low dose codeine can be used for painful RLS which i have. So is that website out of date.

No. Well it hasn't been amended since they recommended codeine.Go back to GP and show them the NHS and NICE website and ask why they refuse to follow it.

Just because it's a controlled drug doesn't mean they can arbitrarily refuse it. Gabapentin and pregabalin are also controlled drugs.

Thanks Jools i need the codeine i only take a small dose because of my low tolerance to all the meds. I will be phoning the doctors again on Monday. I still take one .088mgs pramipexole with the codeine one does not work without the other Still waiting for the appointment to see the neurologist about trying the targinact. sigh Can’t find where it says on the NICE site ? It’s ok i found where it says codeine 😊

Hi Ducatidave if it’s the magnesium i can’t take it i have IBS and tried all different types of magnesium abd they all go through me. 🙁. Never found any triggers probably only alcohol could be a trigger when had a drink at my daughters at Christmas a few years ago my legs played up that night.
