Buprenorphine and co-codamol

I am about to begin taking Buprenorphine prescribed by my doctor. I have another condition for which I take Co-codamol 30/500 at night for the pain. My GP didn't say not to continue taking this but I have read that they shouldn't be taken together. Does anybody have information about this? Is there anybody taking these two medications together successfully? Many thanks.

The buprenorphine will block the Co-codamol making it ineffective.

The Buprenorphine should cover the other condition as well. I would stop the co codamol as you start the Buprenorphine.
