Hi knowledgeable ones,I've got my RLS under control, have been on Gabapentin for months plus a low dose Tramadol. I've found the right dosage and am mostly getting good quality sleep. Yeay! However, I've been experiencing unusual hair loss over these months. Could it be from Gabapentin? Thx all.

Hair loss from Gabapentin?

Most definitely. A number of people have reported this side effect. I have experienced it on pregabalin.
Yes. I noticed it on gabapentin and pregabalin. However, I then started ferrous bisglycinate iron supplements and B12 and folic acid and biotin.
My hair has now grown back. It's thinner than it was.
I'm now on a tiny dose of around 6mg pregabalin as I reduce off it.
Thanks Joolsg, I started biotin and take B12 every 2nd day. I'll look into what dose of folic acid and when to take it. Darn Gabapentinoids and their side effects 😬
I also take Neurontin (Gabapentin) for my RLS from this trusted pharmacy: global-world-delivery.com/c..., but I haven't experienced any hair loss.
It's possible, though, since Gabapentin can sometimes cause side effects like that, but it's not super common. Hair loss can also be influenced by other factors like stress, hormones, or even the Tramadol you're on. Maybe check in with your doctor to be sure. Keep an eye on it, and if it worsens, it might help to adjust something.
Thank you for the insight. My doctor doesn't say much, it's a one-sided discuss mostly. She sends me to specialists at least... like the Sleep Specialist that adjusts my RLS medications.
