well I’ve just had a staggering turn up for the books!!

After a month of my right hip that I had operated on in January gradually getting worse and affecting my SI joint and giving me persistent bladder pain due to my pelvic floor muscles tightening the GP contacted my hip surgeon and baring in mind my restless legs and benign fasiculations they have put me on a low dose buprenorphine patch called Sevodyne 5micro gram as I can’t take naproxen dickofenac etc due to active stomach ulcers discovered 8 weeks ago.

So after fighting for it for RLS I got it for the combination of health issues and just via my gp who has agreed a review in 3 weeks as I told her if it helps my restless legs then I cannot risk coming off and having breakthrough issues.

No one was more surprised than me she literally offered it up!!

Any advice with patches also we are going abroad in November weather will be 80 degrees will this effect my patch?

Anyhow I will keep you all posted how I get on and I have a zoom call with my hip surgeon on Wednesday but my feeling is the surgery on this hip has failed.

They may be more *effective* in the warmer weather, so just be aware.

Yes. But that may be only for the hot weather.

I don't know the exact specifics of that particular patch.

Might be an idea to keep it out of the sun ,if possible??

Have a wonderful time.👍

Great news. The patch is notorious for wearing off before the full time period has elapsed. Most people taking it report it only lasts 4 or 5 days. Not 7. So explain to GP and look at all recent posts on Buprenorphine. It seems many people put a new patch on at day 4 or 5.
