Looking for some advise, I have started my withdrawal of ropinirole I'm now down to 0.50mg per day and taking 200mg of Gabapentin in the Morning & Night, I am waiting to see someone regarding possible nerve damage as I suffer from constant aching/Pain.
At the weekend I had a terrible time with my RLS and I also had shooting pains down my legs coming from the groin area which was unbearable and got no sleep Saturday night.
Can you tell me is common with withdrawal and what else should I expect and should I now be asking for a small dose opioid to help with pain ?
Many thanks

That sounds more like a neurological problem. An opioid may help but you need to see a neurologist to discover the cause. It is not likely from your withdrawal.
One withdrawal symptom that I had were shooting pains from my groin and down to my leg. These jots slowly disappeared after a few months. They became less frequent until they stopped.
Hey, thanks for your reply. These pains are awful and no amount of pain killers seem to work, good to know that they will eventually stop, much appreciated
hey - im at more or less the same stage at .25 and my legs are very up and down (in more ways than one) some nights like last night im ok i got 7 hours but the night before only 3. One thing im my non medical opinion is do you get rls in the day as i dont and i know pregabalin only lasts x amount of hours for me so if you are ok in the day id maybe look at using them tablets at night to help i take 600mg half an hour or so after my ropinirole and 30mg codeine then i take the second batch of pregabalin around 12/1/2am to try to give me relief through the night as i wake to go to the bathroom. Again non medical but personal experience that may or may not help
Hey, thanks for your message, I do get RLS during the day, but they also think I have nerve damage as I cannot bear to sit for very long due to pains in the back of my legs at the top, which is being looked into. I have asked for codeine to help on a night, figures crossed. Good luck with your withdrawal.👍
Are you saying you are taking 1200 mg pregabalin? That is twice the maximum amount. Once you are off ropinirole it's going to take you forever to reduce without withdrawal effects to the lowest amount you need to control your RLS. And you will want to reduce to the lowest amount so you will have room to increase if needed as you get older. I can't believe your doctor let you do this.
