I have RLS, usually get it after 6pm for 2-3 hours and sometimes after midnight. So I went on .125 dose of pramipexole for RLS for about a month, it worked but had to go off it because it was giving me racing/pounding heart at night. First couple days RLS was worse, then it has gradually tapered off, and now 2 weeks later I have about 90% less symptoms than I did before I went on the drug! I am really hoping this lasts and I have permanently reduced symptoms.

Improved symptoms after getting off pramipexole
I hope so as well.
Maybe you have discovered a new algorithm to manage RLS.
Let us know how you progress-- you could be making medical history!
Yeah it feels like I'm dreaming...had this daily for years, also it would always start in one leg and then switch to the other after an hour or two. Now I get it in one leg very mild for 10-15 minutes and it doesn't do the "switch" it just stops and leaves me alone! I am going to wait a couple more weeks and if its still improved I will report it to the M.S. nurse and doc. Could be the dopamine output shifted in my brain, very glad I went off the drug when I did!
That's great - hope it lasts.
Fingers crossed it lasts!
I don't know about improved symptoms, but I took pram for about a month and a half and it had no or very minimal effect on my RLS. When I tapered off of it by taking 0.125 for about 7 or 8 and then stop completely, it didn't make a difference in my symptoms at all. Nothing I could notice anyway.
Long may it last!
Hi Busyleggs77 - I must say I hated being on Pramipexole - I didn't have palpitations like you but I didn't like how it made me feel. I had to really gradually come off it - just shaving off parts of the pill every day until I could have reduced the dosage. I came off it about a year ago and now am on gabapentin which I find works well. I am gradually trying to come off that now. I don't have RLS anymore since having an operation on my back that dealt with the pressure my vertebrae was putting on a nerve (sciatic I think).
