My Mom is 76 years old suffering from RLS since 2013. She is on Pramipex ER 0.75 from last 5 years. Please suggest how should she take withdrawal from this medicine. I feel very scary of her augmentation if at all she encounters. Also I don't know any good Neurologist who is specialized in this management and treatment of RLS here in India. If anyone know then please suggest. She along with pramipex takes Lyrica 75 and Rivotril 0.50 in afternoon and dinner. The neurologist one she is under doesn't know anything about Iron infusion in the RLS. We are confused and feel frightened of stopping her of taking Pramipex dosage . Please guide.

I answered your question 4 months ago. Go to healthunlocked.com/rlsuk/po...

The only thing I can add is that Rivotril which is also known as clonazepam has a long half life of 40 hours so is likely to make her tired the next day.

Reduce by half a 0.125 pill every 2 weeks. Try to find a doctor who will prescribe tramadol, codeine or oxycodone to take at each dose reduction to settle withdrawals.Lyrica 75mg won't help until she's completely off Pramipexole. And it should only be taken at night. Stay on it for now, but tell your mother it won't help until after withdrawal from Pramipexole.

Also, see if you can get blood tests. Full iron panel. And pay for an iv iron infusion if necessary.

I don't know any good doctors in India. There are very few here in the UK.

But 0.75mg is above the recommended maximum dose.

Hi Joolsg what is the best dosage to take of codeine to help settle symptoms when reducing pramipexole?

30mg and it can be taken every 4 hours for the 2 days after dropping a dose, then stop and wait for the next reduction.Go slowly.
