I’m on my second week weening off Sifrol (0,18 mg) combined with Gabapentin 300 mg. Is it important that I totaly get off DA after three weeks or can I continue a couple of weeks? So far it has worked very well and my sleep has been better than in long time.
Now I’m on vacation and I’m worried that the RLS wil increase and effect my holliday.I realy need to relax after a tough year with augmentation and a busy work year.

The slower, the better to withdraw from Sifrol, so wait until your holiday is over.I presume you mean you are withdrawing from Sifrol ONLY?
The gabapentin will start to help when you've been off Sifrol for about 3 weeks and you should increase up to 900mg around 4 weeks before your last dose of Sifrol.
Can you complete your bio to show country, age and all meds etc? It can help direct you to correct doctors etc.
Not necessarily. I reduced from 4mg Ropinirole to 2mg pretty quickly with no withdrawals and my RLS paradoxically settled for a few months. Then the RLS ramped up again and the augmentation was brutal.Enjoy the brief respite and wait until your summer holiday is over. Then carry on reducing slowly.
Hi There . Been on Pramipexole years ago worked great for ages but had to keep increasing the dose till maximum then Augmentation also suffered badly swollen feet and legs had to attend Odema clinic without success so came off very slowly hard to do but it can be done ,tried most others did not help a lot ,now I have R.L.S & Parkinson as well ,let Dr and Consultant talk me into going back on Pramipexole not much help and once again badly swollen feet so I am coming off it again very slowly will try Pregabalin .with having both conditions not sure what helps ,anyway good luck you are in the best place for good advice from these wonderful people here .
You should ask your doctor about Rasagiline (Azilect). Rasagiline is used for Parkinson's and has been used to treat RLS. It is not a dopamine agonist. "The hope is that Rasagiline, because it prolongs the effect of existing dopamine, instead of producing more, will not come with adverse side effects,"
Hi, yes I have a similar history with DA. Worked well for a long time. Untill augmentation started for about a year ago. Heavely sleeping problems of course, but not the same problems as you mentioned. I try to compensate poor of oxygenation that lack of sleep causes with beeing active. I cannot be active and train as intense as before. But still it helps me feeling better.
