Underestimating DA Withdrawal!

I’m not sure why I cantinue to post about this, but Wow! Nothing in my arsenal of weapons helped me last night...I had to just lay there and accept the onslaught! Pure hell! I slept for about an hour after my alarm went off. Now I’m having trouble breathing this morning and my chest feels congested with wheezing. I have to work 12 hours today! Such misery, but I just can’t go backwards! I’m going to push forward with my plan...I may just be nuts!! I hope everyone has a good weekend! 🌷🙂🌷

Poor you! Sounds like a virus has stroke on top of your withdrawal?

Can’t you call in sick? I wonder whether you will be of much use at your work like this. Sending energy and wisdom your way.

Thank you! I’m moving slowly and glad it’s Saturday and without management around! I need the money...

Certainly more than just withdrawal and you have to be careful what cold meds you take too! I really feel for you x

in reply to Pam34

I only took a Singulair with my regular meds. The Albuterol is unavoidable at this time. Thanks so much for responding!

Hope your weekend goes well and you feel as the day wears on. Just a question— what I’d DA withdrawal? And what is your plan?

in reply to Shutterbug65

DA means dopamine agonist which is what Mirapex and Requip are. My plan is to wean off the Mirapex. It’s making things worse for me right now. My dosage is too high. I hope that made sense!

You must be super-human, Gratitude. Working on top of d/a withdrawal (esp as unaided by an opioid)! That is unbelievable. Well done. Thinking of you. I am certain that once you are over this awful stage you will be delighted with yourself - and rightfully very proud. I came off pramipexole without an opioid but wasn’t on such a high dose as you (1.6mg in my case) and there was no way I could have worked. I did become quite flexible with all the stretches I was doing through the night!

Yes! When I flex my legs, they’re as hard as rocks from all the stretching I do during an attack! It does make for shapely legs, but that’s about all!! I’m not feeling too super-human right now...exhausted and ready to lie down, which brings us to the problem at hand! I feel mentally prepared to suffer again tonight and one more 12 hour shift and then 4 days off...yeah! 🙃

in reply to

What do you do that require 12-hour shifts? Are you a nurse?

in reply to

Yes!

in reply to

Bless you! I 👏 you! What kind?

in reply to

I was a Pediatric nurse for years and years switching to the elderly in the last couple of months. It’s very different, but I like it! I had been doing Pediatric home care and felt bored and unchallenged. Did I ever get myself challenged! I certainly got what I asked for! I love my profession because I can help others, which is my desire, and actually get paid for doing it...❤️🙂❤️

I really feel for you, though it makes me more nervous of my determination to tell the GP on Wednesday that I want to come off Ropinirole (only 1.5mg) - but I will take courage from you and still go for it. In the meantime, my prayers and wishes for determination and energy are with you. xx

Thanks so much! I just slept all night and didn’t hear my alarm and slept an hour and 1/2 after it went off! Nothing but a blessing! I didn’t do anything differently! I know this was an aberration, so I will keep fighting!! Maybe it was the rain although I couldn’t hear it...just a blessing! Have a great day!! 😊🌺🙃

in reply to

You slept?! That’s AWESOME!! Whatever you told your legs last night, do the same thing tonight! (It might sound strange, but I talk to my legs. They rarely listen, but I try😆)

in reply to

I didn’t do anything differently! Same old routine! I have recently added Magnesium Oil spray and it does seem to help! I took off the compression stockings after wearing them all day at work. Those are new too. I didn’t need the ice packs. I hope you’re well! My heroine! Thanks for your support 🌺🙂🌺

I wore compression socks for the first time two nights ago and longer compression hose last night. The RLS have slight signs of wanting to kick in at about 5am, but went away again - I've never had that before so I shall put them on again tonight!

Hope you get some sleep tonight, but I'm glad you did so well last night.

in reply to RosieRow

I’m so glad they helped! Thank you...I’m going to repeat last night, but I doubt I’ll have the same luck 2 nights in a row!!

in reply to RosieRow

So glad to hear that they work for you! Compression stockings were the very first thing I tried that helped!

Thank you! I just woke up for the first time in 5 1/2 hours! I’m off today, so I can nap whenever I want to. I think we survived Florence’s rain/wind. Hopefully, we’ll see the sun today 🌞💐🌞
