Buprenorphine / Gloucestershire or nearish
Robin Fackrell who operates privately in Bath would help. At a price.
Good morning! I have consulted privately with Dr Roswell Martin at Winfield Hospital in Gloucester and he recommended Methodone before bupremorphine
Ah thank you for that , just drove past there ! Do u you mind telling me what he charges and did you try the methadone ?Does he specialise in rls ?
Not sure whether he specialises in Methodone but he did recommend it if oxycodone failed and i am still trying that. I think his initial fee is about £200 per consultation and then follow up of £160 but not absolutely sure as my insurance paid it. He specialises in MS and Parknisons Kind regards davchar
Hi Im seeing Dr Martin again in April. How did you get on with the methadone ? I really want Buprenorphine but he wasnt keen . Ive just sent him the latest research on it hoping he will change his mind. How are your legs now ?
hi hon, I am sorry that you’re suffering, this is the whole crux of our dilemma is finding the doctors who will help us out with what we need. I live in Washington state, and I have to fly to California twice a year to see a specialist who is willing to prescribe that medication for me, because I can find no doctor in my state who will help me with that medication. Our lives are very important and to constantly have to fight every single day just to live is ridiculous, but it is our dilemma. I hope that someone comes through for you. 🥲
I can only think of Prof. Walker at Queen Sq, who will see people privately. However, he has two patients who have experienced teeth issues and he attributes that to Buprenorphine. However, there are loads of us on Buprenorphine who have NOT experienced teeth problems, so you could mention that to him. It causes dry mouth and I use sprays for Sjogrens/dry mouth and they help.Welsh doctors are unable to prescribe Medication to patients in England as their funding systems are separate.
Also, various areas in England have Buprenorphine as a red list drug which means GPs cannot prescribe. Only a specialist.
I don't know anyone else near you who would prescribe Buprenorphine.
