REM sleep, being clear.

Hoping one of the experts can pull me through tech terms and sites that are "inaccurate".

I am now convinced though unconfirmed rem sleep. No one has told me so. However my 48 hour study has happened this week. The results are, I am told, definitive, not speculative. When the data is analysed in 8 weeks I will be notified . Out of 10 people one is predictively female.

I believe my bouts have lessened in 2023 to 4-5 bouts. But this cannot be confirmed. Parkinsons seems 80% likely. Maybe its already here, a slight tremor on my left hand. So are the items I've read fact or vague.

I need hope. One thing the consultant said last year was "we can help". That could be "when your parkinsons sets in".

Advice needed please.

Hi Spurdog, it's not clear to me what advice it is you're looking for. What specifically are you wanting to know?

I'm sorry, I just don't understand your post. Perhaps someone else on here will be able to give you the advice you're seeking.

Your post isn't clear. Are you saying you have REM sleep disorder and your doctor suspects you have Parkinson's disease?

I do not know what I have. The local consultant sent me for tests with a belief its rem sleep. No, I don't believe I have parkinsons. However if I do have rem sleep the indication is strong that parkinsons will result. I do hope that makes sense now.

It is ghe research I have done that I need reassurance on, eg is parkinsons most likely to come?

My apologies for confusion

Everyone has REM sleep, but REM sleep disorder is when you have dream enactment.I suggest you wait until you see the specialist to get the detailed results of all the tests.

If it is Parkinson's, there are some excellent neurologists out there, especially at Bart's and Queen Sq in London.

I agree with Joolsg. And I would not panic and worry until you find out what the results say.
