GiraffeNap Upright Sleeping Pod

It's finally happened! We Nightwalkers often talk about being able to sleep standing up. A tech company has now designed something to allow workers to sleep upright. It's designed for short sleeps, but it would certainly have helped me while I was going through augmentation and horrible withdrawals from Ropinirole.techeblog.com/giraffenap-po...

Interesting. I'll bet it is expensive though.

And I can't image, assuming it didn't bother one's RLS, drinking coffee and then trying to sleep as one coffee shop suggested although of course they want to sell their coffee.

Wow beats sleeping hanging over the dustbin which I have done many a night in the past in between pacing up and down the drive !! X

It's also better than the old "sleeping over ropes" I've seen in Victorian photos!

Pippins, that I can relate to, although I've never tried it. It tells its own story!

Well, Hot Damn! I've often felt that it was getting horizontal that allowed those heebie jeebies to start crawling up my limbs. Would $1,000 be a good guess? And is Stage 2 sleep deep enough to get by on for the rest of one's life? What stage allows for REM (rapid eye movement = dreaming) sleep, which experts tell us is necessary for proper brain function? At any rate, I'm breathlessly awaiting for reports from our RLS gang!

No prices so far but I'm sure a really good carpenter/handyman could build something similar with the shelves for feet, legs, arms and head at the right level and suitably padded. I'll bet mine could do it for around £750 /$1000.

Hi, Jools,

And probably even less, in that a bedroom "giraffe" wouldn't really need the curved outer walls. Maybe just "seat" belts?

It looks like the Victorian's ideas have come back - sleeping on a rope.

Those are very interesting. It’s 3:30 am and I’m thinking I would like one right about now.😀

what a brilliant thing…😂😂. I’m not sure when it could work for me. Either I’d be kicking my legs and then dropping off and maybe feeling a bit caged in…. Excellent for some people in some situations… though actually I would love to have a go 👏👍😂

I used to try to devise a strong rope between door frames!. But this and a motorised cycle to move the legs for us while we rest upright would be perfect.
