Jules I sent my GP all the info you gave me on buprenorphine. He read all the info & was then happy (3 nights ago) to change me over from oxycontin to buprenorphine 0.4mg but cutting the tablet in half so I start on 0.2mg.

So very many thanks for that.

However unfortunately he has not been able to source the Accord tablets that you use & he has given me the tiniest tablets you ever did see.

They are almost impossible to cut in half & the first tablet smashed to pieces.

It is also nigh on Impossible to press them out of their silver wrapping.

I am going to ring him in the morning to say I am not managing. As you are also in the UK he must be able to source Accord.

Also Jules & Sue I am still on 1,500mg gabapentin.

Presumably I need to start reducing the strength?

My pharmacist also said he couldn't source the Accord brand. Yes the pills are tiny. I bought a pill cutter and this seems to work when halving the tablets.

Tx for that. I did get a pill cutter from Amazon but it is almost easier to cut with a knife.....

So pleased you have got your buprenorphine. I cannot get Accord but have Tephine which is made by Sandoz and it is working well at 800 mcg in divided doses. Regarding getting the tablets out of the blister pack I also have this problem as they break up. Get something with a point - even a knife or darning needle and pierce the back around the tablet. Good luck.

forgot to say Tephine brand come in 200 mcg strength as well as 400. For ease I just get the 200 and use two tablets for my dose at bedtime. They dissolve quite quickly.
