Tizanidine

The knowledge and personal experience of this group is so very helpful, giving me hope on this journey to discontinue Requip so I have another med that I would like to know if anyone has used for RLS? I have been taking 1 mg of Tizanidine at bedtime for several years now. I don't think it is part of the augmentation issue for me (but want to make sure) and wondered if a higher dose might help me get through my withdrawal from Requip.

It helps muscle cramps and is safe for RLS.

In the UK tizanidine is a muscle relaxant used to treat spasticity - associated with multiple sclerosis or spinal cord injury or disease - by blocking nerve impulses.

Img is a very low dose so I wonder what it was prescribed for?

I'd assume - looking at usual dosages - that 1mg could be increased unless contra-indicated because of interactions with any other meds that you're taking. You should really check with the prescriber.

It's not associated with RLS here, but whether it'll help with withdrawal from ropinirole....

I have a neck injury from a car accident 50 years ago. About 10 years ago, I began to wake with a migraine about 30 minutes after falling asleep. After trying several approaches taking tizanidine at bedtime worked. I do not take it during the day and don't use it to treat migraine.
