The 600mg Horizont started causing the same alerting that the pregabalin and gabapentin had so my very understanding primary care doctor suggested clonodine. Started last night, while staying on the 600mg Horizont and had a good night, so the plan was to reduce the Horizont to 300mg for 4 days and then go off of it. That didn't last as my jerking legs were so bad tonight I went back up to the 600mg. (This might also be complicated by going off methadone completely 4 days ago--I was only on it for about 10 days and never took more than 1.5 mL. But meds generally kick my butt going on or off of them.) Doc thought the clonodine might also help with the rough edges from coming off the methadone. Anyway, I am also having side effects that might jinx the clonodine but it is too soon to tell about that and that isn't my concern at the moment. I was going to get some CBD hoping it might help but stupidly didn't as I had slept for the first time in so long and was feeling so well. But I doubt it could keep up with the jerks I am having anyway at the moment. In any event, the dosages of Horizont of 300mg and 600mg seem a big jump for the body to cope with. Any ideas welcomed.

Going off Horizont help
I am so sorry the Horizant gave you the same side effects. Another one to try is dipyridamole. You might want to discuss this with your doctor. It has helped some people on this forum and another forum I am on and has completely eliminated RLS in some. In the winter 2022 edition of Night Walkers, the publication of RLS.org there is an article by Sergi Ferre about dipyridamole discussing the effectiveness of it in a 2 week double blind placebo controlled study showing it completely ameliorated all symptoms. The study was by Dr. Garcia Borreguero movementdisorders.onlinelib... sciencedirect.com/science/a... movementdisorders.onlinelib...
I went to my appointment 3 days ago and asked him for that specifically. He thought we should try clonodine first and if that doesn't work, keppra. I'm not sure the clonodine won't work, yet. The problem I wrote about was getting off the horizont. I figured out after I wrote that that I should switch back to gabapentin and go down by 100mg. every week or so. I guess going this direction (horizont to gabapentin) is okay as I just went the other direction.
