Codeine report

Took 1/2 tab of Tylenol #2 at 9:00pm. Came on strong and I was very stoned in a half an hour. I did go to sleep after a half an hour or so for about two hours. Then woke up with PLMs and sort of fearful (may just be from knowing what this process can do to my life and fearing that codeine won't work and I have such trouble with meds). Got to sleep after 3 hours or so for a couple more hours. As I usually can get to sleep, I thought I would try taking less the first time I wake up. Problem is it is so short acting? Any input appreciated. (I am weaning off of gabapentin slowly at the same time if this makes any difference.)

Tylenol increases the effect of codeine so possibly this is the cause.

So maybe I should opt for straight codeine? I am still wondering about how short acting it was, but I guess the experiment has just begun. I dream of sleeping through the night but I guess I should have gotten over that long ago. Boy, do I feel for people who are still working...

You might ask for codeine extended release which lasts for 12 hours, or have you tried buprenorphine?

I guess I am having a paradoxical reaction to codeine as the second night it woke me up when I took even less (it didn't make me stoned, didn't help the legs, but did wake me up). As to the buprenorphine, yes. I took it one night--a very very bad night when my reaction was so horrible I could not imagine trying it a second night. I doubt myself that I haven't forced myself to see if I "get used to" the drug.
