Am I right that codeine interacts with magnesium (I take magnesium threonate and magnesium bysglicinate)?

And what about taking codeine with food or not?

Thanks.

Magnesium interacts with about 200 substances.

Best to space it at least 2 hours from any other medications.

It does interact specifically with opioids.

Good luck.

You can take your codeine with food. As Madlegs1 said it is best not to take codeine at the same time as magnesium as it decreases the effectiveness of the magnesium.

I have always heard that you should take opiates with food to lessen the possibility of nausea.
