After effects of molar extraction.

I had 2 molars extracted a few days ago. Last night I had terrible " withdrawal " symptoms-- restless body and pain.Dentist had to give me quite a few anaesthetic injections ( I have a high metabolism) and also included adrenaline.

Any ideas what may be going on??

I am on medications (opioids) for RLS, but had not skipped any.

Thanks for reading this far.

My money's on the adrenalin. Stress worsens RLS & stress produces increased adrenalin.Hopefully it will settle.

Thanks. That's what I'm reckoning.

hi Madlegs - I get the dentist to give me anaesthetic injections without adrenaline. I always had a reaction to adrenaline which made me very on edge and unable to settle. The only downside is that the anaesthetic wears off more quickly but you can cover this with painkillers. No big deal.

Hope you have settled down again, good wishes.

Two days later-- I'm feeling a lot better-- no long term effects , except for sore jaw.

I'm wondering if adrenaline is normally used in dental work, or did he put it in because I told him I had a high metabolism. He certainly had to re inject anesthetics a couple of times to get result.

Not particularly looking forward to next round of more extractions and fillings. 🥵💀

Hi Madlegs - As far as I know adrenaline is used in all dental anaesthetics. Like you I always need high doses so that probably makes us more susceptible to high amounts of adrenaline and the consequences. My nephew has just qualified in dentistry and when next speaking to him I shall ask more into this. Certainly it has helped me over the last few years. Good wishes going your way for next app.

Good to know that.

I look forward to hearing more, when you get to speak with him next.
