Is anyone using Valium/diazepam or any other benzo to treat RLS? The Horizant that I’ve been using for the last year and a half isn’t working as well as it used to.

Valium RLS
Those meds are ok for very short term relief.
But not good for long term. They are extremely addictive, and you will be piling on horrors unlimited if you continue.
And that's being optimistic!!😝
If you are on BP meds, some of those can set off RLS.
Also be checking for any triggers. Such as high sugar, artificial sweeteners, rising agents , processed meats and so on and on and on.
Be certain to avoid any form of magnesium within two hours of taking Horizant.
Good luck.
I used diazapam successfully a long time ago for a couple of years when my RLS was milder. If you have severe daily RLS I don't think it will help. In my experience benzodiazapines don't stop symptoms rather they are sedating.
I agree with Jumpey. If Horizant isn't working, valium certainly won't. If you don't have symptoms during the day you might want to switch to gabapentin or pregabalin which you take at night and might be able to raise it to a more effective dose. If you do want to try that ask your pharmacist what the equivalent dose would be so you can switch directly. Otherwise have you started taking any other medicine or OTC supplements recently or made any other change to your diet or activities?
I agree with Jumpey as well. Valium helped me initially but very quickly didn’t anymore. I’m now taking oxycodone, 5 to 10 milligrams a day. That’s been helping but I can feel even that is becoming ineffective.
