I can't answer your question, but commend you on your accomplishment! 🎉 I quit smoking 4 years ago. I luckily haven't even had the urge to light another one since about 6 weeks after quitting.

I hope you can comfortably continue your sobriety and that someone with experience can answer your question.

Congrats again!

I also congratulate you: while you may well get some good info here, I wonder whether you might also find the Drink Free group helpful:

As it's so long since you gave up alcohol, I'd wonder whether you're shaking could be something else. What does your doctor say? Have they checked you out for other possible disorders?

I have been alcohol free for 32 years and now the shaking was horrible for months now it’s just very lightly and I believe that’s mostly anxiety. Congratulations those are a huge accomplishment.

Congratulations! Curious - I have recently quit alcohol (Nov). I wish I had done it sooner - like 30 years ago! When I had severe RLS daytime symptoms were in my arms - prior to my (self) RLS diagnosis I considered that I had Parkinson's tremor - my hands would shake.

I’d suggest that you ask your physician if you have Essential Tremor that is unrelated to your past alcohol use. I’ve had Essential Tremor for several decades (as did my mother) and it’s treatable.

I’ve had Essential Tremor since being a small child - I wonder if there is any connection to RLS
