hi just wondered if anyone has suffered with an anaesthetic whilst being on Pregabalin?
had horrific experience last week. Went into hospital for my broken wrist to be pinned. Shared my concerns as week before had severe adverse reaction to gas and air. I was totally gone straight away on it. Before I knew it I was virtually upside down 2 or 3 times.
I told them my concerns about being on Ropinirole and now Pregabalin. Anyway to cut a long story short had anaesthetic for surgery but they couldn’t wake me.they tried to reverse anaesthetic but didn’t work. I was could hear everything but couldn’t communicate at all. I couldn’t open my eyes, nothing. I was punched several times on nerve spot on chest, my collarbone area squeezed so hard I would have screamed if I could. I could hear them discussing locked in syndrome, had emergency CT scan of brain, but also heard many times over the next 14 hours Pregabalin. I was transferred to intensive care. It was the most terrifying experience ever. Nobody seems to know why I reacted like this but not to have a GA again until they have found out what the hell happened
Has anyone else had a reaction like this on Pregabalin . I say Pregabalin, as have had anaesthetics before whilst on Ropinirole and although I am not great at coming round, never ever had anything like this so presume Pregabalin might be the issue?
I am also going to speak to Dr again about changing from Pregabalin to Gabapetin as weight gain is still increasing and my eating habits are getting out of control.
