Ropinirole

I have suffered RLS for decades. About 5 years ago I was put on Ropinirole by my GP. It worked great for a while but then the RLS started to get progressively worse. Couldn't figure it out. Then, through this forum, I found out about Augmentation a word I'd never heard of before. So I started to reduce intake of Ropinirole until 3 weeks ago I stopped. Instead, I am now taking one, over the counter, 500 mg L-tyrosine per day. Sleepless nights are history. This chatline has been unbelievably helpful. Many, many thanks.

That's great! So glad you found something that works for you.

Glad you found something that works. I’ve been through the nightmare of ropinrole also. If you still have any RLS issues you can add some CBD. I’ve given up on all prescriptions as they have all had side effects. I only take CBD now and has worked wonders in stopping nighttime RLS.

where do you order CBD? I am in US but hesitant of where to buy.

You can buy CBD/THC gummies legally online in the US. This is what I was using - although it no longer works for me but maybe it will for you! lumigummies.com/

Hi. Thank you for the info. In all of the reading I have done on this forum, I have not seen anyone mention l-tyrosine. How did you discover it? I wonder if it could work for long-term DA users?

I discovered it through online research. I've no idea as to whether or not it would work for long term DA users. It's available in most health shops over the counter without prescription.

l-tyrosine is metabolized into levodopa but not enough to worry about augmentation.

Thank you. So many tricks that work for others do not work for long-term DA users.
