OpIate withdrawel and restless leg syndrome
Can you get suboxone ?
I’m also suffering with restless legs whilst coming off Tramadol and Gabapentin. I was advised that Magnesium oil can help, I bought a magnesium oil spray which I spray directly on my legs and it seems to help, doesn’t take it away but does seem to calm it down.
Do you normally have RLS or is it purely from opioid withdrawal? Have you contacted a local Council run drug addiction clinic? They're very helpful and familiar with RLS as a withdrawal symptom.
Hello, I am withdrawing from Tramadol and my GP refused an alternative opiate but wants me to have a Tramadol ‘holiday’ and then go back on it. Tried a few times reducing from 2x50mg to 1x50mg capsules but couldn’t cope. Now have a liquid Tramadol and am reducing slowly, at 90mg now and intend dropping 10mg every week to 10days. Don’t know what will help whilst coming off but only hope doing it this way will be tolerable and that after a ‘holiday’ I can go back on Tramadol for another 10 years! At the moment I am up 3 times a night walking round with the occasional attack during the evening and can cope with that. Good luck!
I have seen a doctor in San Diego (Scripps medical. He gave me to try some sleeping like meds to help reduce the need for tramadol. It was not fun and after 2 days was back on tramadol. It is the only med. to work for me. Wishing you the best, having been on Tramadol for over 35 years and counting.
Are they tapering you off? If you were on a high dose and they haven't provided assistance or a clear tapering schedule, they did not do their job by you.
I was told to quit Mirapex without any support, and it ruined me. I've not been the same (it's been 2.5 years) and I'm miserable. I once saw joy and beauty everywhere. I feel none of that now; I am dead inside, except for the rising anxiety about how feeling dead inside is never going to go away, only spread so that I'm dead outside, too.
So see your doctor - it's irresponsible to expect people to come off drugs without support.
Sometimes I hate doctors so much. As a group, they've ruined my life. I'm not even exaggerating; I'm useless, can't sleep, can't eat, hurt all the time, have breakthrough RLS on Horizant, and generally feel that death is better than this crap-show of a life.
Yesterday was my 12th wedding anniversary and it was such a disappointment. I don't think I'll ever be happy again. That's what happens when doctors break your brain. I did nothing wrong, just followed directions. I cry every day, and I wish nothing of the like for you.
When you call your doctor, be very, very specific about your symptoms. Tell them if you're crapping your pants, or can't crap at all, or if you are throwing up, have a fever, are getting rebound headaches, etc. I have found that when they don't listen, you need to be very specific, graphic as appropriate, so they FEEL a little of what you do. It was the only way I got help with IBS/D. I explained to her what it was like to poop your pants, as an adult, when at the grocery store, or Costco, or at a cornfield maze.
Good luck. I hope your doctor is decent and not a jerk.
