I'm a type 2 diabetic and having horrible night's sleep. Anyone know what I can do? Please and thank you 😴

What is your history- what med are you on- dosage - how long? What other meds are you on?

If you've been increasing med and rls is getting worse , I'd guess you are on a Dopamine agonist ( pramipexol) and therefore suffering augmentation - search it - top right drop down.

Come back with that info and we'll take it from there.

Two immediate helps might be 300 mg of magnesium citrate at night or 25 mg fer glycinate- gentle iron- but only take this for a few nights.- Then make sure to get serum ferritin blood test from your doctor.

Be hearing from you.

Gabapentin 600mg 1-1/2, 4 times daily.

It may be that this just is not the med for you. You are on a high dose. Also being a diabetic, and we do not know your history, it is extremely hard to suggest anything. BUT, lots of people do use the sports creams, with menthol in them, and they do help some people quite a bit. it is the menthol in them that helps, so does not really matter what kind. I can tell you you are not augmenting on Gabapentin, so madlegs comment does not apply here. Sorry, madlegs. :) I CAN tell you that there are many over the counter things NOT to try. Anything that has Diphenhydramine in it (the main ingredient in Bendedryl, and many over the counter sleep formulas should be avoided at all costs. There are always exceptions to the rule, but 99% of us cannot use that, it us a huge trigger. You said you are on Gabapentin, any OTHER meds? There are several prescription meds that can also make RLS worse. if this high dose is not working for you, then it is time to have a consult with your doctor. But, since we do not know your entire med list, and I am just guessing you must be on other meds, we cannot recommend things out of the blue without a lot more history, as madlegs said. :)

That's a lot of gabapentin...

My specialist says 1800 is the max but someone on this forum had a higher number. Either way, I still feel like you're taking too much.

Not what you're looking for?
